Titlel/subtitle: Name Pairs along the Germanic-Romance Language Boundary from Valais to the North Sea - A Study in Phonological Chronology.

Abstract: This is a study of dual place names alone the Germanic-Romance language boundary from the Alps to the English Channel. It represents a contribution to the dating of language change in two languages, to language-boundary research and settlement history in the Franco-German boundary area. It also attempts to fill a gap in traditional toponomastic research, which has so far restricted itself to isolated cases or the consideration of name pairs in smaller areas.
